KEVIN DICKERSON

Kevin Dickerson is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter born in Alaska and now living in San Francisco, California. He uses a unique, intensely personal, and inimitable style of songwriting to explore a memoir-like approach to lyrical themes, creating an interconnected world that doubles down on experimentation and pushing the boundary of what it means to be a songwriter today.

Ginger Grapefruit is Kevin Dickerson's fourth full-length album of original music. Written and recorded from August 4, 2018 – February 28, 2019 during yet another period of displacement following an accidental flood in March, 2018, Ginger Grapefruit releases on December 13th, 2019.

Kevin completed two albums in 2019: a fourth hour-long full-length album of original music titled Ginger Grapefruit, and an upcoming collaboration with Sami Perez (Cherry Glazerr, The She's, The Gonks).

Kevin released his third album Sunburst on November 2nd, 2018. The 87-minute album featured guest singers Sami Perez (Cherry Glazerr, The She's, The Gonks) and Andrew Berrios (Saintish), guest pedal steel by Ben Lester (The Tallest Man on Earth), and drums by Andrew Maguire (Hamilton, Meernaa, John Vanderslice).

In September 2018 a selection of Kevin's lyrics was included in Vol. #2 of the journal “Lyrics as Poetry”.

Kevin's second release, Parque México, was recorded in an apartment in the Mission Dolores neighborhood of San Francisco and a home studio in Berkeley in 2017.

Everyone's Okay was recorded in 2016 and released in 2017, featuring covers of Angel Olsen and Owen Ashworth (Advance Base, Casiotone for the Painfully Alone). Guest musicians include Cherilyn MacNeil (Dear Reader) on piano and Avinash Mittur (Wild Hunt, Anaximander) on drums.

In December 2016 Kevin recorded and released the “Tinderbox” single hours after the Ghost Ship fire that devastated the community in Oakland, California, where he lived for many years.
